Publication Design
이 출판물은 한국 작가 서도호의 작품 세계를 탐구합니다. 그는 직물을 활용해 건축적 구조와 일상적 오브제를 재현하는 조각과 설치 작업으로 널리 알려져 있습니다. 서도호는 자신의 작업을 “기억의 행위(act of memorialization)”라고 설명하며, 개인적·문화적 공간이 지닌 조용한 아름다움과 정서적 울림을 담아냅니다. 책자의 와이드 포맷의 디자인은 그의 작업이 지닌 장대한 스케일을 반영하고, 대비되는 이미지 크기는 역동성과 예측 불가능성을 드러냅니다. 미니멀한 디자인 요소는 그의 작품이 지닌 다채로움과 동시에 고요한 성격을 한층 돋보이게 합니다.
This publication explores the work of Do Ho Suh, a Korean artist celebrated for his fabric-based sculptures and installations that recreate architectural structures and everyday objects. Suh describes his practice as an “act of memorialization,” preserving the quiet beauty and emotional resonance of personal and cultural spaces. The wide-format design reflects the monumental scale of his work, while contrasting image sizes convey its dynamism and unpredictability. Minimalistic design choices enhance the serene yet vivid qualities of Suh’s art.

저는 디자이너로서 서도호의 직물 기반 건축 작업을 큐레이션하고, 이를 거대한 크기의 출판물로 구현했습니다. 작업의 분위기와 정서적 깊이를 시각적으로 담아내기 위해 이미지 크기의 대비로 역동성을 강조하고, 미니멀한 레이아웃을 사용해 작품의 섬세함과 색감을 부각시켰습니다.
As the designer, I curated and presented Do Ho Suh’s architectural fabric works through a wide-format publication. My design approach emphasized the atmosphere and emotional depth of his art—using scale contrasts for dynamism and a minimal layout to highlight both the intricacy and color of Suh’s creations.
