이 인포그래픽은 2003년 북미 대정전을 다룹니다. 5천만 명에게 영향을 끼친 북미 역사상 최대 규모의 정전 사태였습니다. 프로젝트는 전력망 시스템 내부의 복잡한 관계와 사건의 연쇄를 시각화하는 데 초점을 맞추었습니다. 작은 사건들이 누적되어 거대한 실패로 이어지는 과정을 드러내며, 정전의 타임라인과 원인들을 명확하고 흥미로운 내러티브로 풀어냈습니다.
This infographic examines the 2003 North American Blackout, the largest in the region’s history, which affected 50 million people. The project visualizes the complex relationships within the power grid and the chain of events that triggered the blackout. By illustrating the small-scale incidents that escalated into a massive failure, the design delivers a clear and compelling narrative of the event’s timeline and interconnected causes.
저는 2003년 정전 사태의 타임라인과 원인을 조사·분석하고, 이를 데이터 시각화로 구현했습니다. 작은 사건이 어떻게 대규모 재난으로 확대되는지를 보여주는 동시에, 명확성과 스토리텔링을 강조한 디자인을 완성했습니다.
Our work involved researching and analyzing the dynamics of the 2003 blackout, including its timeline and contributing factors. The final design highlights how minor incidents accumulated into a large-scale disaster, using data visualization as a tool for clarity and storytelling.
